Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young.  Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.  1 Timothy 4:12 (New Living Translation)

Hmong language classes for high school youth will begin on Sunday at 11/6, at 10:00 a.m.  Ying Yang, a new member of Holy Apostles (Katrina and Becky’s mom), is a public school elementary teacher in a bi-lingual classroom.  We are grateful for her willingness to share her skills and knowledge with the Holy Apostles community.

Friday Night Youth Group:

Holy Apostles is the place to be on Friday night!  Youth, ages 7th grade-12th grade meet every Friday evening, from 6:30-8 pm, to make friends, explore faith in Jesus, and have fun.  Our youth group is led by a team of committed, volunteer young adults, under the supervision of our priest.  All are welcome!

Youth Blast:

Youth Blasts are a new and collaborative way for the Episcopal Churches in the Metro Area to do Christian formation for Jr and Sr High Youth. It’s Sunday school for teens.  Holy Apostles will be joining 10 other churches, 5 Sunday afternoons,  sprinkled throughout the 2011-2012 program year, from 1-5 pm, each with a different focus. Each gathering will be hosted by a different congregation.  No charge,  but we will be accepting donations to be put to future use – (maybe a trip? Project?) At each session, there will be lunch, connection time, Bible reflection, lesson topic, worship, and fun, etc.  A group will carpool from Holy Apostles to go to each Youth Blast session.  Contact Rev. Letha

Peer Ministry Training: (9th-12th grade), Dec. 9-11th, 2011.  More details will be coming.

This is a fabulous training for high school students, that helps develop or refine several interpersonal skills for ministering to people  your own age:  listening, empathy, communication, welcoming, and leadership.  These are great skills for youth group, school, and life!   Lar Nyia and Gao Chee both attended the training last year.
